I&#8217;ve started my weekly meetings with my mentor, and I \u00a0hope I&#8217;ll improve my English communication skills, as well. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>QA Activity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This weeks I&#8217;ve worked on bug triaging, I took part at the<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/quality.mozilla.org\/2013\/06\/unconfirmed-bugs-triage-day-every-tuesday-4\/\" target=\"_balnk\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Unconfirmed Bugs Triage Testday<\/a> : Like each Tuesday I&#8217;ve explored last week filed bugs and worked on triaging them.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/quality.mozilla.org\/?p=45257\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mixed Content Blocking Testday <\/a>: a testday aimed to find as many affected sites as possible and instruct site owners how to make their content HTTPS-compliant. I&#8217;ve discovered more about mixed content blocking in <a title=\"Tanvi Vyas: Mixed Content Blocking\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/tanvi\/2013\/04\/10\/mixed-content-blocking-enabled-in-firefox-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tanvi Vyas\u2019 blog post<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Worked on Middle-aged Bugs as described below. (point 2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;ve also decided to learn more about Bugzilla and bug&#8217;s lifecycle. As for what I think the first important thing to do when approaching Bugzilla and Triaging and, goal of my \u00a0work as bug wrangler as well, is understand:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> the tool you are using and how you can improve other to better and quickly learn it;<\/strong>I&#8217;ve started learning more about Bugzilla, reading docs, wiki, asking for info on IRC :). Under the idea of my mentor I&#8217;ve begun by sketching some ideas for\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem; line-height: 1.714285714;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.mozilla.org\/One_Bugzilla_Per_Child\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One bugzilla per Child project<\/a>,\u00a0a project to set up training missions for new bugzilla.mozilla.org users. I&#8217;ve started exploring technologies and contents to add for some training missions\u00a0about basic bugzilla use, and bug triage.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>how you can improve triaging work and let other approach to do the same.<\/strong>\u00a0I&#8217;ve started exploring bugzilla query searches, reporters and developers activities; I&#8217;ve looked at a lot of bugs and read comments, whiteboard flags, looked at bug&#8217;s reporting dates, bug&#8217;s modification dates, time within which reporters are available to answer and add more info to the bugs, and I&#8217;ve estimated that there is a range of bugs, <em style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Middle-aged Bugs<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">,\u00a0that haven&#8217;t been changed recently, but were reported within the last 6 months. Triaging them may find good, relevant bugs. It can also help clear out invalid bugs!\u00a0<\/span>During these weeks I&#8217;ve focused my attentions on these bugs, starting from an initial set of bugs around 405, and I&#8217;ve started triaging them. I&#8217;ve also worked on how to generalize some simple steps to follow for triaging these bugs and help other approaching this Bugmaster Project and the result is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.mozilla.org\/Bugmasters\/Projects#Middle-aged_bugs\">here<\/a>.<\/strong> After two weeks the number of bugs is decreased to 380 ( some of them are now resolved as INVALID,INCOMPLETE or WORKSFORME, other bugs are now NEW and a lot of others bugs are still waiting for replay from the reporter of needs-replication).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Here there is a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.mozilla.org\/page.cgi?id=user_activity.html&amp;action=run&amp;who=tiziana.sel%40gmail.com&amp;from=2013-07-01&amp;to=2013-07-07&amp;sort=when\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report<\/a> of my activities listing the triage work done during last week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Developer Activity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This week I&#8217;ve started implementing some initial queries for my Bugmater extension:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;ve created an <a href=\"https:\/\/builder.addons.mozilla.org\/package\/192886\/latest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online version<\/a> of the addon that can be quickly test and installed,<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve set up initial Bugzilla queries to search for\u00a0user created bugs, user assigned bugs and bugs where a user is qa contact and user info.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve explored other possible queries for better supporting bugmasters works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My OPW internship with Mozilla is going on.
